It is with great sadness and deep respect that we acknowledge the passing of David Merrington, a dedicated and passionate advocate whose service has left an enduring mark on our community.
David served with distinction as President of St Michael’s Association from 1991 to 2005, demonstrating unwavering leadership, compassion, and commitment. Prior to his presidency, he contributed significantly as a Board Member from 1986 to 1991. His vision and guidance were instrumental in shaping the Association’s growth and in supporting countless individuals and families.
In recognition of his exceptional dedication, David and his beloved wife Pam, were made Life Members of St Michael’s Association. Pam’s unwavering support was a cornerstone of David’s community and professional achievements.
An active and valued member of APEX, David exemplified community spirit, tirelessly dedicating himself to supporting and uplifting others.
His contributions extended beyond the Association and community work, notably impacting education through his tenure as the Head of the Automotive Program at TasTAFE, where he passionately fostered skills, innovation, and excellence among countless students. His dedication and expertise guided generations of students toward successful careers.
David’s warmth, integrity, and dedication will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Pam and the entire Merrington family. David will be remembered with deep gratitude and affection by all who knew him.
